Curriculum Overview

Collingwood School offers a broad and balanced curriculum from the ages of 3 to 11. It is guided by the National Curriculum but not restricted by it.

Pupils in the school study the following subjects:

English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Geography, History, French (from Year 1), Spanish (from Year 3), Reasoning (from Year 3), Design Technology, Computing, Physical Education, Religious Education and Music.

We have specialist teachers for numerous subjects from Reception, and offer specialist teaching for all subjects in Years 5 and 6. Our peripatetic teachers provide excellent teaching of football and the chance to learn a choice of instruments in individual music lessons. We also have a multi-purpose gym.

Collingwood enjoy an extensive sports fixtures list with U9 and U11 pupils having ample opportunity to represent their school. Team sports include rugby, football, cricket, netball and rounders. Individual sports offered include athletics and swimming, and we have a variety of extra-curricular activities offered to all ages.

Educational visits, including residential camps, supplement our curriculum and are enjoyed by pupils of all ages.
